The Math Toolbox provides free classroom mathematics tools. This page explains the limited information used to understand how the public website is being used and to keep it working well.

Website analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to measure general website activity, such as page views, approximate location, referring source, and device/browser information. This helps us understand which tools are useful and improve the website. We have configured it for standard page-view measurement only; we do not use it to record student answers, names, roster information, or classroom performance.

Google Analytics may use cookies or similar technologies according to Google’s own practices. You can limit this collection through browser privacy controls, cookie controls, or Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Student and teacher classroom data

Some Math Toolbox activities allow a teacher to create assignments or review student work. That classroom data is handled separately from public website analytics and is used only to provide the assignment, progress, and teacher-dashboard features. It is not sent to Google Analytics.

Teachers: Please do not place student names, email addresses, or other personally identifying information in a public URL, title, or free-response field intended for a public website.

Third-party services

The site is hosted by Netlify and uses Supabase for selected classroom features. These services process technical information needed to operate the site. Their use of data is governed by their respective privacy terms.
